Prone Rifle For the uninitiated, Prone is about as lazy as a sport can get and still be a sport. Having said that, we've teams in postal leagues, people shooting for the Warks County side, shoulder-to-shoulder matches against other clubs and timed shoots where the ability to fire eight accurate rounds a minute (as a minimum, at least if you want to win owt) at a very small target can be sorely tested. Think of Prone as the real ale of target shooting . . . something of an acquired taste but full of weird and wonderful things. This year, by way of an experiment, there will be some internal competitions which will be competed for by both LSR and Prone shooters - this isn't as daft as it sounds, as for a handicap competition you are in effect shooting against your own average. Look out for more details nearer the time! Looking for technique advice? We've bought a club copy of Chris Fordham's book "Prone to Win" on CD - this is currently with Liz, please email if you want it! Internal Competitions
